Na Na pinches her pennies

Shh… don't tell anyone I'm poor. They all think I'm living frugal and green just like everyone these days. This is a blog about a senior citizen living a frugal life, on a fixed income, in a low income food desert, and passing along knowledge from lessons learned. Some she learned from her Grandma Mama many years ago and some learned only a few days ago.

Testing photos

I’m learning about posting photos taken by a cellphone and downloaded to my computer. In order to check what I’ve learned I need to write something in between photos.

Yeah! I can go to the store again. (still wearing a mask) While out shopping yesterday Ladybug used her cell phone camera to take a couple of photos of the *type* kitchen table I would like to have someday. This was one of the pictures. Originally it appeared sidewise but I rotated it.

The store where I found the table was Big Lots. It’s sold $189 for the table only and the stools are two for $110 or the three pieces for $300. With KY sales tax it would be $316. I would need six stools so about $551 for me. I’ll keep looking. No, I didn’t write the note. It was part of the price photo. This picture was also sidewise and I rotated it too.

The table folds out for when a larger table is needed and closes smaller when not. I say this is the *type* because I do want a small profile table when not in use but I’m really hoping for; rollers on the feet for easy moving; stools that have backs but fold for easy storage; could seat up to six when unfolded and counter height if possible. Does anyone actually make those? Hmm, maybe I’ll look at fold away furniture for tiny houses. Might be something there at a reasonable price.

I really doubt I’ll find my dream table. But seriously, this post is not about the table. I’m checking my ability to include photos from a cell phone. Photos on my posts do better when separated by some words. I tried making the pictures smaller but clickable to a larger size for viewing and this new wordpress won’t let me do that anymore. I believe I’ve got it worked out now.

look for a drop leaf table that has leafs on both sides. Mother and Pop had one in their trailer. Mother used folding card table chairs for guests and her and pop had computer chairs for them.

Good suggestion. I’ll keep it in mind. I’m in no hurry. The longer it takes me to find a table, the greater my chance of finding the perfect one.

I got my son a nice table from Amazon for @$60, the manufacturer label was Visagle. I got matching chairs at Wal-mart for $30 each.

Over the past few weeks I updated my cellphone too Anita, I have a ( $40 ) Android phone and $30 At and T plan. Since I have home internet I mostly switch off my data plan and just use the wifi connection.

Delightedly I have found I can make quality rehearsal videos with a little stand from Dollar Tree and a free program called Video Compress which makes the files smaller and manageable.

I’m still putting back together my business, and may need to add some income streams since the singing/speaking part isn’t great wearing a mask…which my customers are choosing to do rather than require vaccinations…but we are moving forward slowly. Texas is always two steps forward one step backwards!

Thanks Tracy, I’ll check those out. Recovering from a year of down time sure ain’t easy. It feels like starting at the beginning but with better knowledge.

Foldout tables are so useful. Husband’s parents gifted us one when we first got married, and we then gifted it on to Husband’s youngest sister, so it’s given us a lot of use.

I hope to find one sturdy enough for passing on to a grandchild someday.

Great that you are learning new things with the blog. I need to put a blog together some day. Love the table you have picked out. Sending love from SC!

Writing about your quilts would be a start. Its how I started my first blog. It going to be awhile before I get a table as my budget for it is still small. I’ll start saving more once my quilting service gets going again. IF it does.
