Shh… don't tell anyone I'm poor. They all think I'm living frugal and green just like everyone these days. This is a blog about a senior citizen living a frugal life, on a fixed income, in a low income food desert, and passing along knowledge from lessons learned. Some she learned from her Grandma Mama many years ago and some learned only a few days ago.
In times like today we must all share frugal knowledge to survive through the economic hardships. I use my blog and sometimes youtube to share what I know about making ends meet with very little money. However: keeping a blog is not free. There are various cost associated with keeping a blog. If you find value in what you read on my blog and would like to put something into the tip jar it will be gratefully appreciated.

This is something I thought people should know about before gifting money through Paypal. Not just for me but for anyone gifting money to anyone through Paypal. When you send a money gift to someone through Paypal, after entering a dollar amount, and clicking continue; unless you check the box saying “sending to a friend” Paypal will deduct a fee from the person getting the money. Paypal is set up to automatically be a purchase unless you tell it otherwise. As far as I know Paypal doesn’t need any information except your credit or debit card number, nothing else, in order to gift money to someone. For anyone receiving money not intended for a purchase it can be refunded and sent again without the fee but I’m not sure how long it takes to get back on your card. I hope this photo shows up ok. Its the pop up window that says “What’s this payment for?” with two boxes below and a circle to the left of each one. Click on a circle to put a check mark beside the “sending to a friend”.
